Glaucoma Research and Diagnostic Center (GRDC)

 

The GRDC was a renowned research center at the indiana Univerity school of medicine, Indianapolis under the leadership of Prof. Alon Harris. US-collaboration with the GRDC began 1997 and continued over the past decades when it  evolved to the Vascular Research Center within the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Eye Institute and later on moved to the Ophtalmic Vascular and Research Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, USA. Multiple papers and various books originate from this cooperation.

Prof. Larry Kagemann, MS BME, PhD is a long term collaborator with our center. he worked as professor at the Ophthalmic Imaging Research Laboratory, Glaucoma Imaging Group (GIG), Department of Ophthalmology, formerly at UPMC Eye Center, Pittsburgh, PA, US. He works now at the National Institutes of Health NIH, Center for Scientific Review, Bethesda, MD.

Our foundation is greateful for acquiring an additional expert in blood flow and vessel related ophthalmic diseases as well as imaging technologies, Dr. A. Lietz-Partsch from Berlin, Germany. Her scientific background is closely tied to the time she spent under the supervision of Prof. Flammer, the former chairman of Basel University Department of Ophthalmology, Basel (CH).
